In my VIM config I have virtualedit=all so that I can move the cursor with the keys anywhere within the file whether there’s a character there or not. For some reason when that’s not available that kinda messes with my mind.

What you’re describing is called ‘virtual space’ and to my knowledge is not available in ST2.

Aha, my bad. I normally just click ‘view new posts’ so I miss the actual category sometimes.
