I just upgraded to macOS Mojave the other day and every time I create a new file in Sublime Text, the app crashes for a bit. Mojave in general is a bit crashy, so I suspect it may be a system issue. But since this is the only reliable way I’ve found to replicate the crashing I was wondering if there’s a way I can troubleshoot this with Sublime Text.
Mojave beach balls

Since the beach balling seemed to happen I was writing to the disk, I tried some fixes relating to that. I repaired disk permissions with Disk Utility
(supposedly redundant post-Yosemite). I also reset the PRAM and the SMC which are touted as magic fixes in cases of weird slowdowns and… it looks like the issue is fixed. At least, creating a new file in Sublime Text doesn’t crash the app now.

I solved the problem by reinstalling Mojave from macOS Recovery. Sublime Text works now, along with a host of other file related-issues, such as missing thumbnails for images on the Finder, etc. Let’s hope this fix lasts!
