Migration of ST3 Config to new machine, MAC OS

#1

My old mac is being replaced and I need to move my ST3 Configuration to a new machine.

  • Unfortunately, the OS has been upgraded from Mojave to Catalina.
  • I have a number of unsaved documents and I want to preserve these in the move.
    – I have 3 instances of ST3 windows, each with say 30 files - most saved
I will be cloning the directories so the file-system will be duplicated
    – I still have both machines for another few days.

Request:-
a. How to move the configuration of ST3 between Machine on MAC OS
b. How to preserve open documents

  • Not sure what I am doing wrong …

I backed up the following folder:-
~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3
and copied it to the new machine before I installed ST3

When I opened ST3 I had a single empty window.

  • The plugins were preserved and seem to work.

~/Library/Application Support/Local/Session.sublime-session contains all the unsaved documents and open tabs/windows.

Thanks bschaaf for your reply.

  • The sublime-session is not in the path that you have stated but in the path below

I have moved the file from the old machine and replaced the same on my new machine and I have the open windows as required.
I placed the unzipped path in the `~/Library/Application Support/xx’ before installing the ST3.

Thanks for you help & kind assistance.

Thank you… You guys saved my all hardwork…
I do save my files but want to keep track in UNDO history. and it was really required for me too.

I bought a new Macbook Pro and wanted to shift everything from Mac Mini to Macbook Pro. And this worked greatly.
