Working with two branches. I have done some work on branch2 and wish to merge it into branch1. I right click > checkout branch1. Then I right click > “Merge branch2 into branch1”. A menu comes up, and I check the --squash option, then click the “Merge” button.
Then nothing happens. If I merge without squashing it works fine, save for I wanted it squashed. It fails silently, with no warning about what went wrong.
Please advise.
