Memory Leak on El Capitan

#1

I just upgraded my MBP (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) to El Capitan today. With only light use of ST3 (build 3103), after an hour or so of working with other tools, I got the dreaded “Your system is running low on application memory”. In the list Sublime Text showed (“paused”).

With the dialog still alive, I fired up Activity Monitor and scanned for big memory users. Holy crap, Sublime Text was using 68gb! (not a misprint) This never happened before, when I had Yosemite. Please advise what I can send in to help debug this.

Ok, it’s related to the Side Bar. I had it open on a very large directory. I opened ST and watched Activity Monitor for awhile. I only had three tabs open and was not doing any editing. But the memory shot up to 6 GB when it finally occurred to me that the side bar was open. From the view menu I chose Side Bar > Hide Side Bar and the memory came crashing down. It’s been stable at 256 mb now while I’ve been typing this and has not increased.

What packages do you have installed?

Package Control and Side Bar Folders.

Perhaps trying disabling both, then restart Sublime Text and see if the issue persists?
