Marketing standardization please! (RANT)

#1

It’s been a while since I thought about posting this and today is the day.

This question goes out to the folk(s) responsible for the branding/packaging:
I love your app and I’ll gladly pay for all of the hard professional work that is put in but who decides of the domain name vs package name vs install name??

Here’s my user reality:

  1. When I get your page: sublimetext dot com
  2. When I install your software: sublime-text dot deb
  3. When I access installation: /opt/sublime_text

WHY???

Why not sublimetext.com, sublimetext.deb and /opt/sublimetext?

How about sublime-text.com, sublime-text.deb and /opt/sublime-text??

Perhaps sublime_text.com, sublime_text.deb and /opt/sublime_text???

I understand about diversity and inclusion but, come on, I would expect a bit more standardization from a commercial software company that bases it’s business model on a free platform.
