A lot of forums (still) use phpBB, and often I wish that I can compose in markdown, and then convert it to BBCode. This is so that I have local (source) copies of my posts.

I know there are sites and separate tools out there on the web, however it’s just so damn convenient to do it straight from the editor.

It would be great if it could convert BBCode to markdown too.
