Markdown greater than sign does not show up

#1

I’m on Sublime 3211 and I’ve noticed when editing Markdown, creating blockquotes (using >) causes the greater than sign to not show up. It’s replaced by a highlight. If I select the highlight, I see the greater than sign again.

I don’t like or want this, but I’ve dug through the preferences and documentation and can’t seem to find a way to turn it off/disable it. I’ve tried multiple themes and color schemes too. What is this preference called and how Do I get > to show up in the normal editor?

That is specific to your color scheme and/or syntax file. I know there is a 3rd party Markdown package that purposely styles the > the same as the background to make it look like a bar (or the way some renderers actually render the Markdown in HTML). Perhaps you are using a 3rd party Markdown package? Or some color scheme that is doing this?

oh hun. It was. I had scrolled through a few colour schemes and thought it wasn’t related, but if I continued down the list a bit more, I get the > sign back. I guess it’s a common thing various theme designers do. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.
