macOS - indexing: crawldb not available, indexing abandoned

#1

I recently upgraded my Mac and restored it from a Time Machine backup. Sublime Text 3 still opens and generally works, but I’ve noticed “Goto Definition” isn’t available. When I open the ST console, I see:

error: unable to open crawldb (~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Index), indexing is unavailable
indexing: crawldb not available, indexing abandoned

When I look at the permissions in ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3, the Index directory is readable, writable, and executable by me. Similarly for the files within Index. I tried chmodding Index to be 775 instead of 755 but I still got the same error.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Did the same thing with you … and get the problem. Have you solved this?

Delete the indicated folder, and it should be ok the next time you start Sublime Text

sorry, I did’t get which is “indicated folder”, do you mean “~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Index”? I deleted this and it didn’t work. @jps

That’s the folder, yes. When you say it didn’t work, what error message are you seeing in the console at startup after deleting it?

I also restored my new Mac from Time Machine and lost GoTo Definition.

Deleting the specified directory fixed the issue.
