MacOS 12 Multi-Screen Cannot Save

When a second screen is plugged in in MacOS 12.0.1 Monterrey on a MacBookPro M1 (Oct2021) I cannot save nor save as. When I hit save, nothing happens. If I attempt to close the file, it asks me if I’d like to save, and that still does nothing. When I disconnect my second screen, it all works. I tried both settings of “Displays have separate spaces”, and rebooted for each, no help there. Running build 4121. Is this an arm64 issue? Perhaps a new way the new Macbooks support multi monitor?
