[Mac] Allow opening new window using keyboard shortcut even when all windows are closed

#1

Once you close the last SublimeText window on mac (using “command + w”), you can no longer press “command + n” to open a new window.

This is a common behaviour on Mac across most other editors and applications. It should be included in SublimeText as well.

I’m confused because ST allows you to open a new window in the presented situation.

Wow. It works for you. I’m not able to get the same behaviour using ST3.
When I have a window open, “command + n” opens new tab. But doesn’t open new window when last window is closed.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Command+N opens a new tab, but Command+Shift+N opens a new window. Perhaps that’s your problem.

Yes I’ve tried with “Command+Shift+N” also, doesn’t work once all windows are closed.

Have you tried reverting to a freshly installed state?

Yes it works after reverting to freshly installed state. So some plugin/setting must’ve interfered with this default behaviour?

Correct. A plugin likely has a keybinding that’s overriding the default, or something along those lines.
