Linter configuration - coloring and gutters

#1

Am hoping to use ST 3 for JSON Linting.

Ive installed the package and brought up a JSON file. Some lines are colored ‘normally’ while others have some purple text. Reading the docs for ‘linter’ indicates that these are possibly problematic? The lines in question seem to validate ok using other syntax checks so Im not sure whats going on here.

Also - reading here seems to indicate that the gutter would show me more error/warning information but I can’t seem to find the settings for this. Have followed the directions as best I can but can’t find the ‘gutter’ entry in the Command Palette and the other two options don’t seem applicable either.

My version is up to date (3126?). Clearly I’m new to this. Suggestions?

the purple in your document is how your color scheme shows numbers, so the purple isn’t an error, just a helpful highlighting thingie. That is probably why the linter wouldn’t show anything in the gutter either - because it is valid.

I notice that some lines in your screenshot don’t appear to have any colors, most likely the lines are too long for ST to parse them, because even the strings are white rather than the default off-white/gray.
