License Upgrade Required Confusion

I’m a little confused by the in-app messaging here, wondering if someone could explain (and maybe it could be clarified in app).

I updated to 4200 recently and noticed a “License Upgrade Required” in the upgrade dialog. I was running this upgrade > 3 years after I purchased a license, however the build was released within that 3 year period (for some reason my automatic updates were disabled - so May was within my upgrade window, but July when I downloaded it is not). I know also have the same text on the document header bar.

Is this text trying to indicate that I’m using SublimeText outside of my license (which I don’t believe should be the case and might suggest a bug), or is it highlighting I’d need to upgrade my license if I wish to take any further upgrades?

If a build is released within the 3 year period then it is covered by your license, regardless of when you downloaded it. You can view your purchase date in the about dialog (Help > About), the latest license I could find for you was from 2021.

Thanks for confirming - I’ll ignore the head etc for now unless I need to update (when I’ll considering renewing).

It’d be interested to know if there’s a roadmap/planned features for Sublime going forward though. Knowing what’s coming might provide more motivation to renew.
