License necessary for dev built?

#1

Hello,
I just upgraded to the dev built and wanted to start sublime. But it tells me I need a license key. On the download website, however, I was told that every registered user will be allowed to use the def built. So what can I do?
Greetings

Yeah, you need a valid license for Sublime Text 3 Dev builds.

Okay, thank you! Maybe one should update sublimetext.com/3dev . Because there it reads “Sublime Text 3 dev builds are currently available to registered users only.”, which links to this forum and is quite misleading.

To complete the post, the development version of ST3 will accept your existing ST2 license until it gets out of beta (then you need to pay the upgrade).

Hi. Just wanted to say, I missed the text on the website where it said you need to have a license to use a dev build, so I proceeded to add the repo (Ubuntu) and install Sublime dev, however when you close the license key dialog or enter an empty key and push “Use License”, the program just quits silently. It almost seems like a bug in the program causing it to crash. I suggest adding a dialog message in the program itself saying that licenses are required for dev builds and provide a link to download the stable build as well. Silently closing is not good.

Just my $0.02.
