License key no longer valid

#1

I’m using ST4 on a Mac. I purchased a license through my company’s IT department in October of last year. It worked until a few days ago, when I got the “Your license key is no longer valid, and has been removed” message.

If I enter the key again, I get a “Thanks for purchasing” message. Then the “Your license key is no longer valid, and has been removed” message pops up again a short time later.

How can I troubleshoot this? I haven’t had any hardware replacements recently.

Business licenses are done on a subscription basis and the subscription lapsed a month ago.

I haven’t had any hardware replacements recently.

Licenses are per-seat, you can use them on as many devices as you like.

I was wrong about the purchase date. It was actually July, 2025. I thought the subscription was supposed to be for a year? Why would it expire after less than 10 months?

I think I might have figured it out, but it’s still only a guess at this point. The first time I got a license was in April, 2021. Maybe the expiration date is based on that date instead of the most recent purchase date?

It would be very helpful to have a way to lookup the license expiration date. Ideally, this would be displayed ST on the About screen.

Your license from the subscription was allocated in July. The subscription was started in early April 2025.

Note that unlike individual purchases these licenses do not have a fixed end date. They are valid for as long as the subscription is valid.

Okay, that explanation makes sense. I didn’t know the license and subscription were tracked separately. Thank you!

I’ll submit a request for a new license from our IT people. They can do whatever subscription magic they need to do to make it work.
