LaTeX: stop automatic conversion from underscore to brackets

When in math mode, the underscore character is automatically converted to a bracket pair:

e.g., when I type $X_{}$, it automatically yields $X{{}}$

How do I disable this feature?

What packages do you have loaded? I just tested this with the latest and greatest dev version of sublime and the latex tools package. I can’t reproduce this.

“LaTeXing”, “LaTeXWordCount” (sp?), LaTeXTools (as well)

I will add that I can safely append a bracket pair to an underscore after it has been previously typed. However, when I rapidly enter the keystrokes $X_{}$, the automatic conversion occurs.

There was a package “latexXYZ” that was causing this behavior (I didn’t realize that it was installed when first reporting the issue).
