LaTeX highlighting uses a lot of memory?

#1

Hi! I noticed tonight that my memory usage was pretty high for Sublime (~265 MB or something), so I decided to pinpoint the issue. I noticed that when I opened a .tex file, the memory usage would spike up around 100 MB or more, often going from like 35 MB to 165 MB. Any subsequent .tex file I opened didn’t raise it nearly as much, though. Any other file type I tried to open would not produce this effect. Setting a new, empty file to the “LaTeX” syntax (not “TeX”, interestingly), will do this to a somewhat lesser degree. This occurs even when uninstalling every TeX-related plugin I have. If you’d like a full list, I’ll post it, but I’m pretty sure this has to do with the built-in LaTeX highlighting.

What could be the issue? Thanks!

What is your ST build? There habe been improvements regarding this in the current dev cycle.

Dev build 3157, which is the newest available IIRC.
