Overview
Super strange. I have no problem with this keybind (or any keybind) when I use Sublime on my Mac. Nor can I recall any problem with any keybind on any program on any OS on any computer I’ve had.
I thought multiline cursor (split_selection_into_lines
) was not working on my Windows machine. But, when I angrily hit the key combination multiple times (CTRL+SHIFT+L), suddenly it worked!
Attempts to replicate
I can not get it to work 100% consistently every time in exactly the same way, but I can replicate to a degree. What I’ve tried:
- Holding CTRL+SHIFT+L: This sort of worked. Rather than creating a cursor on every line though, it only created cursors on lines that had text, not empty lines.
- Hitting CTRL+SHIFT+L multiple times: Sometimes it worked doing the combination a 3. Sometimes it took 5 or more times. Highly variable. It seems like it will not have the same problem as holding it, though, where the cursors don’t appear on multiple lines. However, after hitting it several times and the multiline cursors showing up correctly, if I keep doing it, I get the same problem as holding it down, where those cursors disappear from empty lines with no text.
Additional info
- I see a little “busy” circular spinny icon animation next to my mouse cursor if I used either of the above methods. That animation does not occur when I hit any other keybind.
