Is there a way to show notifications without breaking the editing surface?

Hello,

SublimeLinter is showing errors in the tooltips https://d.pr/i/breVro
Is it possible to have them less intrusive and less breaking? As a red dots on the line number or somehow else?

I must say that person who decided to make such a convoluted decision is plainly retarded.

This is not coming from SublimeLinter but rather from Sublime Text’s build result error highlighting. You can disable it in the settings.
