After installing package control and entering the command palette, there is no command to install packages.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app a dozen times. Complete clean install removing all ghost files. Nothing works. This is happening on v3dev and v4dev. This happened after I decided to move to macOS 11 and made a clean install of the OS. Please assist.
Install Package not appearing after installing package control
Package Control currently doesn’t work on the latest MacOS because one of the changes made in this version by Apple hides the system libraries that it needs in order to be able to download packages.
There is a fix that has been made/is being tested, but it’s not yet released.
Ah. That makes absolute sense and was something I was concerned about but thought that v4 would have resolved that. Thank you for the update.
Is this still a problem? That was 2020. It’s almost 2025 and I find I can’t use Package Control to install anything on my Mac. It works well on Linux.
I tried a complete reinstall but still no luck.
If you’re on MacOS and experiencing this, you need to use a newer version of Package Control which resolves the image. The (slight) issue with that is that package control updates itself, so if it doesn’t work, it can’t update.
So, what you will need to do (as a one time step) is follow the instructions in this post (which also links to other things that explain the issue and the fix):
