The new image diff view does not seem to work with images that are managed by LFS. When I change an image file, but do not yet commit, SM shows the new file on the right, but the left (which would have to be read from the LFS object store) is empty. After committing the change, or viewing commits in the history, the image diff is empty on both sides:
