Sublime Text 4 will use your ST3 configuration as it’s backwards compatible. See https://www.sublimetext.com/docs/side_by_side.html

I am uncertain whether it is good advice to run both ST3 and 4 with same data directory. Syntaxes differ much, which may cause syntax cache to conflict if both instances run at the same time or at least being rebuilt upon each start of ST3 after 4 or vice versa. Also index database seems to have updated.
I’d expect various issues when running both on same data dir.
