Strangely enough this is still happening even after I uninstaled and then reinstalled the program.
I have lost the ability to select text and then drag and drop it
// When drag_text is enabled, clicking on selected text will begin a
// drag-drop operation. This is not currently implemented under Linux.
"drag_text": true,
This is the line in the default/user preferences you need.
I recommend reading through all the default preferences and just read about what they do. The comments are generally very good and it helps to know what is possible when setting up your environment.
Dont just tell someone to revert their install. Its unhelpful and does not address what the guy was asking about at all. Something stopped working != nuke and reset.
OP said they had tried reinstalling ST, which shows that they are open to the idea of starting from a clean state. Unfortunately, reinstalling ST doesn’t serve any purpose and probably doesn’t do what they expect, so I gave instructions for how to get a clean install. Most likely it is a configuration or plugin issue, yes, I agree, but the quickest way to tell or get things working is to revert. Then if it still doesn’t work, no time has been wasted.
see above, it does address the problem. For something to suddenly stop working without having touched any config, probably a plugin silently updated itself and is the culprit.
