Hi all. I wasn’t paying attention for a second, and went to the https://subllimetxt.digital/ site and downloaded/ran the installer. A little googling hasn’t shown me anything about that domain. How infected is my computer now?

VirusTotal marks it as a some kind of trojan.

I would really recommend running Malwarebytes and HitmanPro, both have free trial versions (for 14 and 30 days, respectively).

Also, the fact that they are distributing the binaries using Discord: hxxps://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/943964931554934909/943964975297339402/Sublime_Text.zip makes it really suspicious.

dputzter82,
any luck? I did the same thing. The problem is I am not finding the trojan on my computer. I am going to try Malwarebytes next I hope that will work.

I also just did the same thing. Before my morning coffee I wasn’t paying enough attention and installed from https://www.subllimtexte.com. My anti-virus hasn’t detected anything but worried something evil has been installed. Trying to workout what has been modified on my computer now. Has anyone else found anything?

Just a quick update. So far I haven’t found anything wrong on the PC. One thing I noticed is the .zip file was a .zip bomb, expanded to 1/2 a gig or so. But after scanning with windows tools, and malware bytes, and hitman pro, after a couple reboots, I’m not seeing any issues.

the domain is already blocked, but in general it is better to make such links non-workable when sharing in the forum. There’s no doubt about the usefulness for the community, but it’s still a link to a malicious site and you’re sending traffic to it.
