How to update sublime text?

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Sublime text 3 installed through the gui ‘ubuntu software’
I am a registered user.

When starting sublime text, i get a dialog that there is a version update. I click the link for the linux 64 bit version and i get a zip file. What do i do with that?

A zip file for linux? The portable linux builds of ST are packed into a *.tar.bz.

I’d recomment to follow the instructions of https://www.sublimetext.com/docs/3/linux_repositories.html to setup apt to download and install from the official sublimehq source.
