I would like to turn off the automatic highlighting that sometimes happen when text is started after pressing tab or 4 spaces.
Is this possible?

You can change the syntax highlighting used in the bottom right corner. Setting it to “Plain Text” won’t highlight anything. You can also make it such that all files with the file extension you’re using will be opened with your desired syntax highlighting.

According to the image I think you have the "highlight_line" option setting to true. By default is false.
