Whenever I download html and css files of a particular site I am working on, to my computer, the lines of code end after about 120 characters with a carriage return. I find this much harder to read, as new numbered lines are being created. Is there a way to remove this, across an entire file, without having to join the lines manually?

You either have a plugin installed doing that for you or whatever created the file did the line wrapping.

Yes. I’ve just realised, and edited my question, the lines are not wrapping – the CMS is adding carriage returns after about 120 characters.
