How to sort files in Groups?

How is it possible to sort files in the Groups in the left-side panel? How to sort Tabs?

How to create new Groups for files?

You can create groups using the menu items in View → Layout or using a dedicated package such as Origami.

The open files section in the side bar is a different representation of tabs, so the Sort Tabs package will provide this feature.
