How to retain auto-pairing in quotes or with following letters

Well, in my sublime, the auto-pairing is not enabled in cases like.
puts(“a[0] =”,a[0]) # the first square brackets is not auto completing.
How to enable them, many thx :).

The auto pairing of square brackets withing the double quotes (assuming the code snippet is a Ruby snippet) seems to be working fine for me on stable build 4126 & latest development build 4134 on Windows 11. Can you tell what version of ST are you using, what OS etc. ?
