How to Pin the Version or Stop Using the Repositories

#1

Hi, I think the question probably nails it. How do I pin the version? And which repository ? As far as I’m aware I’m not using git for anything, or is that how the package manager works ? So I won’t be able to install any packages any more? (Have been thinking about installing LSP etc.) Could you point me in the right direction please ?

Cheers

Ps Tried googling "Pinning Sublime Text " and “Pinning an app in linux” but it thinks I’m talking about pinning an app to the dashboard, which I guess isn’t meant by @bschaaf 's comment…

Pps D’oh ! I think I get what you mean now, but it might be handy for other folks…
I installed my version of ST3 from a tarball, so didn’t use a repo. On installation does ST3 automatically open the ST3 repo ? I guess I’ve just got to delete that repository… I’m just doing some research on what’s the difference between what wget does and what a repo is. Any idea which repository I have to delete please (save me some work :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) Ta !

Deleted the Sublime-Text.list from /etc/apt/sources.list.d

It doesn’t stop you downloading Packages, phew (that’d have totally killed me off)

I guess I’ve got to delete the key too…

(To those folks that say ST is in the background, in the ideal world, all this has taken me a couple of hours today. Work in progress, work in progress :star_struck:)
