How to fully apply a theme to Sublime Text 3?

#1

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to install this theme : https://github.com/dempfi/ayu

I followed these instructions : https://github.com/itsthatguy/theme-itg-flat#installation

However, nothing has changed concerning the tabs, the side bar, I have no icons etc …

Moreover, I don’t know if I should do a new topic or not, but i’d like to install the Roboto Mono font used by the theme, how can I manage to do that ?

Thanks in advance !

Perhaps you should use the instructions for the theme you are trying to apply. See the Read Me on github or Package Control. As for the Roboto font, see these instructions.

Thanks, I have managed to install Roboto font (I used it for Ubuntu as well !)

I already followed the Read Me instructions before posting, but I’ll see what I could do with Package Control !

This theme comes with Skins support. So you just need to install the Skins package and type Select Skin in the command pallet or pressCtrl+F12 to open a list with available skins (theme/color scheme).

You can also give Theme Menu Switcher a chance. It provides Select Color Scheme and Select Theme functions.

Thanks a lot for answering me, sadly, none of these solutions worked for me, I’m just getting a little bit triggered at this point, working in an environment that pleases me is something important to me.

Here is how ST3 looks for me right now : https://gyazo.com/6dfb1b81dfc9e811961d0f9c823b7c14

This is exectly what it looks like for me, too. So what do you expect?

  1. Tabs don’t show any icons at all.
  2. The list of open files in the sidebar does not, too, for any theme I’ve installed.

If you expect an explorer like folder/file tree in the sidebar, you need to call open Sublime Text with the folder as argument or simply call Main Menu->Project/Add Folder To Project...

To show the main menu, open the command pallet with Ctrl+Shift+P and type View: Toggle Menu

Apologies for reviving an old post but since the OP hasn’t let us know if he got it working thought I’d add my experience.

TempusFugit, if you haven’t already, try installing the AYU package again. If done via package control it will display a dialogue giving you the option to install the icons shown in the sidebar. Full and detailed instructions are provided on the packages GitHub page now.

It’s a beautiful skin and very easy to work with.
