I like to have completions enabled in python and other programming files but don’t want them to show in yaml files. Is there some way I can turn off completions in yaml files? Specifically, I’m working with markdown files with yaml frontmatter and am getting unwanted completion suggestions when editing the yaml frontmatter. Thanks!

Good idea.This fixed it. I had to set the following in markdown syntax settings. YAML settings did not work.
