Whenever I press build it gives me a permission error because the process is still running. The only way to fix this is to go into task manager every time and close it manually. Any better ways to do this would be greatly appreciated.

I think the actual issue here is that st only kills old and running builds when they add something to their stdout, not when a new build is launched. I think there is an issue for this as well and I also think that will is aware of it.
