How do I disable Sublime Text settings in Sublime Merge?

#1

I have settings specific to Markdown in Sublime Text. When I use Sublime Merge, it shows Markdown with the font settings from Sublime Text. But the settings don’t make sense in Merge, so I would like to disable them in Merge (not in Text).

See the following images. One shows Sublime Text Markdown settings, the other shows how it looks in Merge. The Markdown looks out of place with a font too large.

Adding a file ~/.config/sublime-merge/Packages/User/Markdown.sublime-settings should let you change syntax-specific settings for Sublime Merge. I don’t know of a way to get Sublime Merge to not read those settings.

But why does Sublime Merge do that in the first place? It seems like it would do more harm than good.

I would imagine because the two can interact with each other, so if the presumption is that you have customized the display of stuff in Sublime Text, when you look at the same code in Sublime Merge you want to see it the same way so that everything remains consistent.
