How can I show the input panel anywhere?

I want get string from user with invoking self.window.show_input_panel(),but the input panel always display at the bottom of the edit.
how can i move it to anywhere I want?

Unfortunately there is no way to position the input panel.

I found ctrl+g can do that ,how does it perform ?

ctrl+g is a quick panel not an input panel…
