My coworkers and I have noticed high CPU (up to 15%) usage by sublime when building our project (which can take minutes) We basically have to close everything before we can build so our system isn’t slow… I’m in stable sublime text 3 build 3126 and I’ve noticed this on windows.

Does your build process create, delete or modify lots of files? Does your project have a large number of files in folders added to the sidebar, as in tens of thousands?
If those are both true, it may be due to filesystem notifications and processing those in relation to the sidebar tree. If that is the case, the next dev build will likely help.
The other possibility, although it seems unlikely to me, is some interaction with the indexer. You can use the Help > Indexing Status… menu to see what the indexer is doing.

Yes, we generate lots of files. I’ll be on the lookout for the next dev build and let you know if there are still issues
