Summary:
Every time I open ST or try to open a file using the Explorer context menu, I get a hang for a few seconds, but eventually opens. However, the Windows EventViewer shows the errors above.
Using ST 3.2.2, Build 3211, but issue also occurred when (temporarily) upgraded to ST4.

I have:

  1. Uninstalled
  2. Deleted %appdata% ST folder
  3. Deleted %localappdata% ST folder
  4. Deleted windows temp files
  5. Checked for Windows updates
  6. Run sfc /scannow (nothing found)
  7. Reinstalled ST.

Issue still persists.

Environment:
Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2, 19042.985
64GB RAM
Intel Xeon W-2145 CPU
Nvidia RTX3070, Driver v457.51

Please help, this is driving me nuts, as I use the Explorer context menu frequently.

Is this forum the only way to get technical support?

There is also an issue tracker on GitHub. It seems no one knows a solution here but you have provided a lot of technical data, so creating an issue on the GitHub might directly result in a fix of the issue. You can create an issue here: https://github.com/sublimehq/sublime_text

If it turns out that this is not a bug or there is an easy fix, please come back here so others having the same issue can find it here in the future

Is it reproducible in ST 4 safe mode? If yes, then it’s very likely a core issue.

I upgraded and ran in safe mode. Results were the same except in included:
plugin_host-3.8.exe
plugin_host-3.3.exe
sublime_text.exe
subl.exe
