Goto Symbol in Project completions?

Is there a plugin which makes it possible to show the results from “Goto Symbol in Project” as a completion during typing?

I ask because often I can’t remember the name of a symbol so I open “Goto Symbol in Project” to find the name but then I have no way to insert it into the text as I’m typing.

I think you are probably looking for Window.lookup_symbol_in_index() and Window.lookup_symbol_in_open_files() at http://www.sublimetext.com/docs/3/api_reference.html. We are probably going to play around with adding an option for the default config to complete based on symbols in open files. Our concern over completing on the whole project is the sheet number of symbols many projects have, and the signal to noise ratio.

Thanks. It looks like there are some technical issues with my idea and it may not be as easy as I thought.

Yeah from what I’m seeing there is no API to return values from the goto_symbol_in_project command so it’s probably not even possible to get access to the database in order to make your now plugin. That’s too bad.
