I’ve just switched over to a new computer and finshed setting up everything, but now my REPL has a bunch of mangled text when I run the shell. Changing the prompts from a normal terminal seems to have no effect on what is displayed. Right now, I get something like this:
e]0;kabbotta@localhost:~/workspace/java/jruby/Last-Ditchae]7;file://localhost.localdomain/home/kabbotta/workspace/java/jruby/Last-Ditcha[kabbotta@localhost Last-Ditch]$ The $ is where I can finally enter commands. It’s even worse than it looks here, because before the whole line is a white box with the letters ESC in it, and throughout there are also similar boxes with BEL. It’s like it is spelling out every special character along with the other garbage. I’m not sure at all what is causing this.
