Full text search very slow on large text files

Hi,

I am searching frequently in very large text files (>2,000,000 lines). The full text search gets very very slow there. This is not very surprising, but I think for such large files the experience could be greatly improved if the search while typing feature would be disabled in this case. It is totally okay so search for ~1-2 secs when I hit enter, but it is annoying if it does that after each keystroke.

Another more fancy option would probably be if sublime text monitors if the search can be executed in time or if keystrokes come in faster than the search can process it and in this case do a search only after processing all queued up keystrokes.

Try disabling ‘highlight matches’, button to the left of the search box.

This isn’t problem of that we should disable “higlight matches” this is problem of implementation. The search should run on a separate thread so it doesn’t lag UI at all.
