When using ‘Find in Files…’ on Mac OS, the dialog is larger than the standard dialog. This is not true on Windows or Linux. Is there a way to force the smaller sized find on Mac OS?

You can grab the top of the panel with your mouse and drag it down to a more appropriate size.
Generally, panels retain their size from session to session (except the Find panel, which always shrinks to the smallest possible size). However occasionally, such as when trying out other themes that change display properties, the saved values for panel height can be a little bit wonky.

More of these obscure UI things:
- You can click on the square-like symbol in the bottom-left corner to show/hide the sidebar.
- You can right-click that same squary symbol to select an output panel.
- You can double-click the horizontal line separating the sidebar and the viewport to resize the sidebar to its optimal viewport.
- You can double-click on the branch-name in the status bar to open Merge.

wow, I was looking for it for two days!
EDIT just realised that it has a tooltip. Other UI elements don’t. I like tooltips.
