Find in files annoyance

#1

Steps to reproduce on Windows:

  1. Create text file C:\Test\1.txt containing some unique text (say, aabbcc).
  2. Open this text file in SublimeText.
  3. Press Ctrl+Shift+F, Find: aabbcc, Where: <open files>,C:\Test.
  4. Press Enter.
Searching 2 files for "aabbcc"

C:\Test\1.txt:
    1: aabbcc

C:\Test\1.txt:
    1: aabbcc

2 matches across 2 files

I am confident that there should not be duplicate files in search results.

Indeed Sublime searches all of the files that you tell it to search and doesn’t de-duplicate the list if the same filename(s) appear more than once. There may or may not be an issue on the tracker currently to request that this not happen.

Generally speaking, if you’re working from files in a specific folder or folders, you likely want to just search the folders in question and not also include <open files> in the search query.
