Find tells me number of matches and when I press return it says “unable to find”.
It seems to happen regardless of any other processes running. I thought it may be firefox chewing up the cpu but when I closed firefox it still happened.
I also thought it might be the huge document I was working with, but when I closed that the fault happened on other quite small documents.
I haven’t tried safe mode. But I now know what the problem is. Although I don’t know how to fix it.
The problem is that I have to be at the top of the document. If I start a search at the bottom or half way through the document I run into problems.
This behaviour is new so I might have pressed a wrong button.
How can I make it just cycle through?
Can confirm the behavior. Say you put the caret at EOF, then when you do find, no matter what you want to find, it will always show 
“Unable to find XXX” though there is just XXX matches aside.
That says, it try to find from the text after the caret by default, which may make sense.
Sorry I don’t understand. I put a carat “^” at the End of File (which I’m guessing EOF means), but the behaviour is still naughty.
