Files wont load when double clicked

When double clicking on a file in explorer (doesnt matter which type of file) in windows 10, sublime text 3.2.2 build 3211 does not open the file, and no error is shown. The only way to load a file is to load it using file, open within sublime text. This problem is intermittant. Whats the solution?

reinstall sublime…make sure you download the latest version

yes of course i have done that.
are there any error logs to view ?

im not sure about the error log, are u quite sure only sublime files arent opening

You can tell Windows which apps to use for loading each file type either by using the “Choose default app for each type of file” control panel (type that into the Start menu and it should come up as an option) or right clicking on a file and selecting “Open with…” and then choose SublimeText (you may have use the “Choose another app” option and then from the dialog select “More apps”) and once you’ve navigated to the SublimeText executable, select the “Always use this app to open xxx files”.

yes I know this. The problem doesnt always happen. Sometimes the files opens in sublime text and other times it doesnt open and no error is produced… I cant figure out why.
