Whenever I close a file in ST3, or switch to browser preview, all previous changes I made to my files are erased, i.e. the file is reverted to its original version, whether I’ve saved it or not. When I attempt to save a file, the message on the bottom of the window appears like normal saying the file is saved- nothing appears in the console. Minimizing the window will sometimes erase the changes, not always. I’m using ST3 on Ubuntu 14.04 and am currently using the unregistered trial version- not sure if that has anything to do with it. This is definitely not making me inclined to purchase a registration.
Files not saving, all changes automatically reverting
I just tried doing a clean install, though since I am a newbie to Linux I went with the .deb package, not the tarball. However, after reinstalling I found that the problem of not saving was the same, AND my previously installed packages were still there, despite having entered sudo apt-get purge sublime-text
in the terminal, which appeared to work. How would I erase my user settings and plug-ins so I can do an actual clean install? -which I assume is what you are getting at…

You may want to backup user settings before removing them.
Thanks… on further investigation, this is not merely an issue with Sublime Text; there seems to be a problem with my cloud storage syncing instead. (sigh) So I guess you could say this topic here is resolved.
