The file tree icons are pretty much just a bunch of useless clutter. Seems like most of them show /* because the file starts with that. I would like a way to just turn it off.
File Tree Icons Very Distracting and Useless
You can customize your theme by creating a file named Packages/User/Default.sublime-theme
and add rules to hide the icons. Reference: http://www.sublimetext.com/docs/3/themes.html.
I disagree. I find file icons quite helpful to distinguish between different types.
I use A File Icon to have one for each type of file.
But this is a question of taste.
Sorry for sounding so negative. I really love Sublime Text and I’ve paid for it.
Thank you @wbond for pointing that out. I will look into that option.
@deathaxe When most of the icons are just /* it doesn’t really help
This is indeed an argument. But we are happy to be able to customize anything. And sometimes we are even happier as someone else did for us.
If you guys need more icons instead of /*, we’re willing to contribute our 1em icons.
Examples:
Shell scripts
argh, I can’t more links here. Just search for “file extension” for many ready icons.
We’re also willing to adjust our icons or create the new ones.
