File system watchers

Recently I started receiving this message:

Any idea what would be causing this? I have excluded all sorts of deps folders for my projects so it shouldn’t be caused by excessive amounts of unneeded files.

On Linux you need an inotify watch per directory. The limit is global so having many applications watching lots of directories can easily hit the limit. Note that increasing the limit does not have any adverse effects.
