Error Message "doesn't look like a git repository" Sublime Merge

I get an error “any_directory” doesn’t look like a git repository.

The first time I add the directory it works fine but the second time I want to add this directory or another one, I get this error.

Couldn’t find any information about this issue on the internet.

Any help is appreciated.

What do you mean by “add this directory”? Which version of Sublime Merge are you using? What operating system?
