Error Loading Syntax File - Markdown Extended

#1

Every time I reboot sublime and then create a new file, the new file defaults to a syntax called “Markdown Extended” and I get an error dialog that says " Error loading syntax file "Packages/Markdown Extended/Syntaxes/Markdown Extended.sublime-syntax.

I want to stop this error from occurring. Thing is that I no longer have the Markdown Extended package installed. “Markdown Extended” is not even listed as a possible selection that I can make in the syntax list, but sublime is somehow setting it to this in the new file after reboot situation.

I have searched my ‘/Users/me/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Packages’ directory for any mention of the “Markdown Extended” and deleted it. Yet, this error persists.

What else should I try to remedy this?

Nevermind. The problem was a ST2 package I had installed called “Default File Type”. Disabling that package fixed the problem.

FWIW, even default Markdown of current ST releases are way better than legacy Markdown Extended.
Based on it, MarkdownEditing provides support for more syntaxes in fenced code blocks.
