"Enter License" in Unity dock (even though I have a license)

I use Sublime Text on Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) with the Unity desktop environment. I installed it through apt using the “dev” channel. I am using Sublime Text version 3144. I own a single-user license and have activated my product. I verified that my product is activated by going to Help -> About Sublime Text.

When I hover over the Sublime Text application launcher icon in the Unity dock, the displayed text says “Enter License”. Why is this?

I don’t use Ubuntu, but perhaps wherever the application entry the launcher is using has the wrong tool tip text set?

Sublime Text doesn't show correct shortcut name in launcher

just to reference one of the aforementioned threads in case it helps others what operating system are you using? if you do a search for sublime_text.desktop, what does it find?
